We have the first SME B Corp in Romania

Promateris becomes the first company in Romania, with Romanian shareholders, to obtain the prestigious B Corp certification. This international recognition validates Promateris’ commitment to sustainability, social responsibility and good governance practices.
B Corp certification is granted by the American non-profit organization B Lab to companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency and accountability. The B Corp company status reflects the commitment to integrate positive environmental and social impact into the business model, while simultaneously pursuing economic performance and responsibility towards sustainability and the community.

Promateris produces bio-based and compostable packaging, aligned with the European directives on reducing the impact of plastic products on the environment (Directive (EU) 2019/904 – SUP Directive). This directive aims to transition to alternative materials and encourages the use of compostable solutions to reduce the impact of single-use plastic. Promateris is a regional reference player, serving markets in Europe, consolidating its leadership position through production capacities and strategic partnerships with retailers and international networks.

This certification places Promateris in a global network of companies that redefine business success through the positive and responsible impact they have on the world. At the same time, it reaffirms Promateris’ commitment to the local community, customers, partners and future generations.
